National Trails Day: Purgatoire River Cleanup and Invasive Species Weeding

Celebrate NATIONAL TRAILS DAY with TTA and the Purgatoire Watershed Partnership

In addition to regular cleanup along the River, we'll send out a strike team to the Blue Heron Trail in the Boulevard Addition to remove invasives before they drop their seed and crowd out the native grasses along the trail.
Meet at 10am the old Noah's Ark parking lot behind the Toyota dealership. Bring gloves! Post-event social and celebration to follow!

May Volunteer Highlights
14 TTA volunteers spruced up the Levsa Trail at Trinidad Lake State Park at 2nd Saturday Trail Work last month, fixing Carsonite signs, cleaning drains, clearing brush from around benches, lopping overgrowth, and more. Thanks to all who helped!
This is a nice and easy trail near town, dog-friendly, with great views of the lake and Peak (state park pass required). Check it out!
TTA Director Jenn Green also helped coordinate a week of work from the Mile High Youth Corps/Eastern Plains crew, who worked on the Reilly Canyon Trail. Thanks for showing the world what the future of outdoor stewardship looks like, even with some camping in the rain!
