It's been dryyyyyy. So very dry. That's great because we can all get outside and enjoy some sunshine, but let's hope for snow to top off our watershed and reduce fire risk! In the meantime, read on for the latest trail happenings in and around Trinidad...

March Trail Work
Saturday 3/14 with Purgatoire Watershed Partnership
This month we are joining up with our friends at Purgatoire Watershed Partnership -- they needed to reschedule their usual work from the First Saturday of the month and we figured we should work together!
Expect the usual river area cleanup activities plus some light trail work. We will also be joined by a local agricultural producer who will explain to us how our river water works and what's happening that is different this year.

Treats, tools, and supplies provided. Join us afterwards for a social hangout at a favorite local pub.

Poison Canyon Strike Team
That's right, we'll have TWO opportunities for trail work this month!
We are looking for seasoned trail volunteers and/or passionate mountain bikers to join a pop-up "strike team" that will focus on Poison Canyon MTB trail at Fishers Peak State Park, rebuilding berms, raking sandy corners, etc. This will be a more involved and heavy work session that will require hiking or biking into work sites.

As always, TTA will provide tools, snacks, and cold beverages for a post-work hangout. Please bring your own pair of work gloves and a water bottle -- and consider bringing your bike to ride in to work sites or for a post-work ride session!
TTA Receives LAC Grant Award
TTA is pleased to announce we have been awarded a 2026 Las Animas County Non-profit Grant.
These funds will be used to support work this summer at the Wormhole with the ultimate goal being the construction of at least one new trail segment!
Thank you to the grant evaluators and the County at large for supporting non-profits in the region.
